Moissanite is a lab-grown gemstone known for its clarity, durability and diamond-like appearance.

Originally discovered in a meteor crater, Moissanite is now created in labs to achieve the consistency and quality used in fine jewellery today.

Natural moissanite was first discovered after a meteor hit the Earth (yes, it is directly linked to stardust), which is why it's dubbed "Gemstone from the Stars".

The intense heat and pressure from this process created the gemstone naturally.

Natural moissanite is extremely rare as it can only form in exceptionally oxygen-poor environments.

As such, the moissanites used in fine jewellery today are lab-grown for better clarity, colour and consistency.

Éclat by Oui uses lab-grown GRA-certified moissanite in D colour and VVS1 clarity, unless otherwise stated.

Both moissanite and cubic zirconia are diamond alternatives with a similar overall look, but they differ in durability and how they wear over time.

Moissanite is harder than Cubic Zirconia, hence making it more resistant to scratches.

Unlike Cubic Zirconia, Moissanite is non-porous, hence does not absorb oils and lotions.

Overall, Moissanite is more durable and maintains its clarity and brilliance better with regular wear.

Although Moissanite shares a similar look and brilliance with diamonds, it is a completely different gemstone with its own unique properties.

Moissanite has a higher refractive index, giving more brilliance and fire (strong light reflection and sparkle), and ranks 9.25-9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale compare to diamonds at 10, making it highly suitable for everyday wear.

Yes, Moissanite is highly durable and suitable for everyday wear. With a hardness of 9.25-9.5 on the Mohs scale, it retains clarity and does not cloud with age.

Made from silicon carbide, Moissanite is highly resistant to scratches. However, like all other gemstones, proper love and care are required to maintain its beauty and sparkle.

A physical Gemological Research Association (GRA) certificate will be provided for pieces with stones that are 1ct equivalent and bigger.

Moissanite (0.5ct equivalent and bigger) will come its own unique serial number that cannot be seen with the naked eye, thus not comprising the design.

Our 18k gold vermeil pieces are designed for everyday wear and can last for years with proper care.

As with all gold vermeil jewellery, natural wear over time may eventually expose the 925 sterling silver beneath. The sterling silver now reacts more easily with air, moisture and everyday substances (oxidization), creating a layer of black substance (tarnish).

To prolong its finish, avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions and harsh chemicals.

If longevity is your priority, we recommend choosing our Solid 14k Gold option, which is made for lifelong wear.

• We take absolute pride in our rings and jewellery and promise you a life of durability of the products. With normal use and proper care, Eclat by Oui's rings should not chip or even lose a stone. However, in the unfortunate event where the stones do fall out, please drop us an email. Don't worry, we will take it on from there.

• Eclat by Oui offers 4 types of warranty:

• If we determine that the product is caused by a manufacturing defect, we will repair the item or if deemed appropriate, replace the item.
• However, if we determine that it is not caused by a manufacturing defect but due to wear and tear, we will repair it at a flat service fee of SGD $55.
• Some examples of common jewellery issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects include:

1. The discoloration of precious metals caused by chemicals, make-up, immersion in pools and hot tubs, or bathing.
2. Prongs catching, wearing out, or bending over time due to everyday wear or normal damage, allowing a gemstone to fall out.
3. The loss of a gemstone caused by damage from everyday wear or from other damage.

Repairs will take approximately 3 weeks, depending on the severity of the damage.

After 6 months, we provide Lifetime Limited Warranty for all our products.

• This means that if there is any damage to the jewellery for any reason, we will repair it at a flat service fee of SGD $55.
• All other additional repair costs will be borne by us.
• Customers with Singapore & Malaysia addresses only need to pay for the postage to us; we will take care of the return postage.

Within 3 years, it covers up to:

• For immediate remedies, you can use a soft toothbrush with dishwashing liquid and water to gently brush the jewellery.
